Bus and taxi services are the main public transportation in Macao. To ride a bus around the city is convenient and inexpensive. Local buses are modern and air-conditioned. Taxis are another convenient alternative. If you want to try something a little different, you can travel by Macao Light Rapid Transit (LRT), hire a tricycle, bicycle or car to see the sights.
Public buses run frequently throughout Macao Peninsula, Taipa, and Coloane including Macao International Airport. Buses have onboard stop notifications in Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese and English. You can also bring a map to better locate your destination.
Taxis in Macao are in black with a cream roof. They are metered, relatively cheap, air-conditioned and clean. Taxis are usually easily hailed along the street, and you can also queue at a hotel.
